This is a great option for new gamers who want to get a jump on their opponents. In addition, you can also edit pre-made teams to speed up the process and get your squad on the virtual court sooner.

For most videogame fans, August is a calm month in which they wait for new titles to hit the shelves. Not so for NBA 2K23 players, whose excitement levels are high as the game approaches release day. The games product descriptions tease the addition of promising gameplay features. Lets take a closer look at some of them:.

Gameplay changes

Whether you drive into the lane or back defenders down in the post, 2K Games and Visual Concepts basketball simulation has some great new offensive enhancements to try. For starters there are new gesture combos that let you use the Pro Stick to better guide your shooting and ball handling. Known internally as double throws and switchbacks, the new mechanics (flicking the Pro Stick in a direction, then quickly moving it back to center) add a lot of variety for your arsenal.

Moreover, the games shooter will now be more customizable with a new shot meter setting that lets you decide if your ideal release point is early, middle or late. Similarly, defensive improvements are being implemented that should make it harder to predict how collisions will resolve. On-ball defence upgrades are also being introduced that will let players move with more fluidity and a new defensive shading system to cut off attackers. Combined with the improved AI that was announced on Wednesday, these improvements should make 2k mt more exciting to play on both ends of the floor.

Gameplay tweaks

In addition to tweaks for on-ball defence and shot defence, Visual Concepts GOAT basketball simulator has a plethora of gameplay improvements that should make the game feel more dynamic. The most obvious are the new adrenaline boosts that allow players to use up to three bursts of speed in a possession.

These also help to re-enforce defensive movement and body ups, which have been revamped to more closely mirror real-world 1v1 player interactions. Great defenders should be able to anticipate where the ball handler is going and will now be rewarded for their instincts. For playmakers, the Lead to Basket pass makes its return for cross and next-gen consoles, while NBA 2K23 adds a Spot Up pass mechanic that gives the receiver a chance to score off a cut with a quick release. And of course, the dribbling system has been fine-tuned for more realistic animations. For example, there are now dedicated gesture combos for hesi and double cross moves.

New MyTEAM cards

Whether you like to drive the lane, back defenders down in the post, or spot up from behind the arc, NBA 2K23 will give you new tools to execute your offensive gameplan. But offense is only fun if its countered by great defense, so the gameplay team put a lot of focus into enhancements on that end of the floor.

Ball handlers should enjoy the addition of new gesture combos, while dunk enthusiasts will find a significant expansion of dunk controls including, on new gen consoles, physics-based simulated rim hangs. The defensive side of the court is getting a major overhaul, too, with changes to on-ball defense and block effectiveness.

As for the MyTEAM theater, the team has added a new card that can be evolved into a Holo Player that provides a boost when completed. The MyTEAM theatre also features a new set of Agendas that reward players with new XP boosts. These new XP boosts will expire at the end of Season 8. Also available in MyTEAM are new music additions from producers Hit-Boy and Dom Kennedy.

New game modes

NBA 2K23 launches September 9 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (Xbox Series X|S) and is set to bring refined gameplay and new tools to both sides of the ball. Attack the basket with a more powerful arsenal of offensive skill-based moves, or showcase your defensive prowess in improved ball strip mechanics.

On offense, the team focuses on improving jump shots with a new green release animation and delayed timing/coverage overlay that will help create more separation between mediocre and elite shooters. Theyve also added a new size-up move, similar to the style of moves used by players like Irving and Harden.

Other smaller changes include a new badge system that offers more authentic shooting and shooting actions and animations, and a redesign of Team Takeover to add a secondary perk alongside a primary. There are also new gesture combos on the Pro Stick, including a rim hang control that will allow players to perform physics-based simulated dunks.
